* Use WARN_ON_ONCE for missing X86_FEATURE_NRIPSDirk Müller2016-08-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit d2922422c48df93f3edff7d872ee4f3191fefb08 upstream. The cpu feature flags are not ever going to change, so warning everytime can cause a lot of kernel log spam (in our case more than 10GB/hour). The warning seems to only occur when nested virtualization is enabled, so it's probably triggered by a KVM bug. This is a sensible and safe change anyway, and the KVM bug fix might not be suitable for stable releases anyway. * KVM: nSVM: Check for NRIPS support before updating control fieldBandan Das2016-08-261-2/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit f104765b4f81fd74d69e0eb161e89096deade2db upstream. If hardware doesn't support DecodeAssist - a feature that provides more information about the intercept in the VMCB, KVM decodes the instruction and then updates the next_rip vmcb control field. However, NRIP support itself depends on cpuid Fn8000_000A_EDX[NRIPS]. Since skip_emulated_instruction() doesn't verify nrip support before accepting control.next_rip as valid, avoid writing this field if support isn't present.
