* Provide a function to create a NUL-terminated string from unterminated dataDavid Howells2019-07-061-0/+24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | commit f35157417215ec138c920320c746fdb3e04ef1d5 upstream. Provide a function, kmemdup_nul(), that will create a NUL-terminated string from an unterminated character array where the length is known in advance. This is better than kstrndup() in situations where we already know the string length as the strnlen() in kstrndup() is superfluous. * mm: use macros from compiler.h instead of __attribute__((...))Gideon Israel Dsouza2019-05-021-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | To increase compiler portability there is <linux/compiler.h> which provides convenience macros for various gcc constructs. Eg: __weak for __attribute__((weak)). I've replaced all instances of gcc attributes with the right macro in the memory management (/mm) subsystem. * Replace <asm/uaccess.h> with <linux/uaccess.h> globallyLinus Torvalds2018-11-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This was entirely automated, using the script by Al: PATT='^[[:blank:]]*#[[:blank:]]*include[[:blank:]]*<asm/uaccess.h>' sed -i -e "s!$PATT!#include <linux/uaccess.h>!" \ $(git grep -l "$PATT"|grep -v ^include/linux/uaccess.h) to do the replacement at the end of the merge window. * proc/maps: make vm_is_stack() logic namespace-friendlyOleg Nesterov2016-09-281-17/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Rename vm_is_stack() to task_of_stack() and change it to return "struct task_struct *" rather than the global (and thus wrong in general) pid_t. - Add the new pid_of_stack() helper which calls task_of_stack() and uses the right namespace to report the correct pid_t. Unfortunately we need to define this helper twice, in task_mmu.c and in task_nommu.c. perhaps it makes sense to add fs/proc/util.c and move at least pid_of_stack/task_of_stack there to avoid the code duplication. - Change show_map_vma() and show_numa_map() to use the new helper.
